Boundless Activated Chips

The fact that there is a huge number of different snacks already available doesn't seem to stop the flow of new ones to the market. Having been previously impressed with other products from Boundless, I checked these out. The product itself is made from sorghum, an alternative to potato that is supposed to be good for your gut while also remaining gluten free and vegan. The snack is a very lightweight, aerated one and produces a distinct crunchy texture when bitten into. The flavour of salt and vinegar comes through but could be considered bitter - it is quite different from other salt and vinegar snacks I've had. Overall though, while I don't see these becoming my favourite quickly they make for a not unpleasant alternative option.

I feel like some of the previous reviews are unfair. These chips are clearly salt and cider vinegar and if you don't like the taste of vinegar maybe don't purchase? These are not only vegan I feel people should take into consideration that they are also gluten free. Yes you can get vegan crisps anywhere they are easy to find (as a vegan I know). But to find vegan + gluten free is not so easy. If anyone is wondering the taste of the Sorghum itself tastes like a cereal. So imagine salt and vinegar cereal (it's nicer than it sounds.) I did not find these to be bitter at all. They are so delicious and I do not get an upset stomach when eating them (I find if anything it calms down my digestion). I find myself craving these crisps throughout the day. My issue with them is that it is marketed as "low calorie" well it would be if they were put into bags of 23g portions that are recommended in the nutritional information. Instead the chips come in an 80g bag which is dangerous if you enjoy the taste of them because without meaning to you can almost consume 500kcals!!! Another reason why I cannot give these 5 stars is because they are rather pricey. I hope this helps!

Oh dear, we didn't like these snacks at all. The flavour's okay-ish if you like salt n vinegar as the cider vinegar is quite sweet and certainly doesn't hit you in the face, but the texture is a bit weird and off putting. Somewhere between a puffed corn snack and cardboard and the flavour doesn't come in immediately so your first impression is always that you're eating cardboard. Very odd. UPDATE: My wife took a couple of packets into work and although some people felt the same as we did some of her colleagues really liked these, both the flavour and the texture.

Really, not a pleasant taste.

It wasn't really clear from the packaging whatthe benefits of the activation was, but the main thing is that they were quite an aquired taste. None of my family really like them.
