Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides, Unflavored - 10 x 10g

In the interests of being a responsible reviewer, I'll basically regard writing this review as a public service announcement. Even more vital than the proteins vital to Vital Proteins is the notion of 'scroll further down the same page to get basically the same thing for the equivalent of a quarter of the price'. Presumably Vital Proteins intend these sachets to be a convenient starter pack of their product for you to try, and if you like it, you can go on to buy a tub of their product. A tub of their product ends up quite cost effective compared to the price of the sachets. If this were the only unflavoured bovine collagen powder product available, that kind of approach would be quite lovely. You don't have to spend over forty pounds at first, and if you don't like it you have only spent 15.00. HOWEVER the amount of collagen in the sachets adds up to a total of one hundred grams. Just a little further down the page in my MYSUPPLEMENTSHOP search I found a 450g gram bag of unflavoured collagen powder for basically the same price as the sachets. Therefore, if you want to try collagen powder, buy that. And if you don't get on with it, maybe you can pass it on to a friend. If you try it and you do get on with it, you will have purchased something costing a lot less than half the price of a tub of Vital Proteins collagen for the price of the starter pack from Vital Proteins. That is why this review is headlined by and ends with the words massive rip off.

It's good quality supplements and amazing effects on skin, hair and nails . Dissolved easy in a glass of water. I didn't like much after taste though

Vital Proteins Collagen Sachets 10 x 10g Packaging: The collagen comes cardboard boxed with 10 sticks of powder, the sticks are like hot chocolate sized sticks rather than sugar sized sticks. Each sachet has an easy tear section so you don't get the powder everywhere when opening. Collagen Peptides: The powder is unflavoured and has no odour at all. The powder particles are very fine and dusty, the type of particles that leave a dusty cloud once poured in the cup. Taste: When testing and rating edible products I always like to review as they are instead of mixing them with a product or liquid. An example would be testing cereal, I would eat straight from the packet on my first try and this is actually what I did with the collagen powder. The powder had a slight vanilla taste to it, not like ice-cream milkshake flavour but still a hint of it was there on my initial taste test. The powder didn't dissolve immediately in my mouth but neither did it congeal in to huge clumps sticking to my teeth. For anyone who had eaten rice paper before, well that was the type of texture I recall it having, melty in the mouth but also a little and very slight gel texture just the same as rice paper or those flying saucer sweets would do. Very happy with this product, the taste and its texture and easy to dissolve in the mouth too.

I found these quite handy for single servicings of collagen, and had a flavour no different than the bulk cannisters I usually use. I think they don't price out quite as well, but when you need to take a few with you that small premium is worth it.

These are unflavoured and even after a vigorous shake in a ball shaker it still had wispy lumps in it. I let these fall to the bottom before drinking but unfortunately could not stomach it as it smelt like feet to me. Maybe for people who stir theirs into food it would be better but for me there are nicer ones for mixing with water.
