PhD Creatine Monohydrate, Unflavoured 250g

The bag was almost empty when it arrived. The taste of it is not that great, especially the aftertaste. I say pass on this and look for other similar products.

This one is not at all for me, it mixes poorly and tastes pretty bad. It has that artificial flavour you tend to get with all protein/health powders but with an added saltiness and odd aftertaste. The instructions advise 200ml of water and 25g of powder but that barely fills half a cup so realistically you'd be double scooping and a single bag would last just a week. I'll be sticking with my low-sugar hot chocolates as they cost a tenth of the price and taste a hundred times better.

It's a great idea, a hot chocolate bedtime drink with a good dose of protein, because your body does a lot of muscle repair and growth while you sleep, but this Rest Powder from PhD Nutrition just doesn't work for me and is borderline undrinkable. The main reason is salt and there's just far too much of it in here to the point of making it gag-inducing. I don't use much (virtually no) added salt in my diet so maybe I'm over-sensitive to it but that aside why does there need to be so much of it in a hot chocolate drink? The upfront taste is rich and chocolatey but then after you swallow there's just a nasty salty aftertaste that's really awful. It's a bit of a faff to mix up, you need to stand by the microwave while it's heating and be ready to hit the STOP button at a second's notice because it's prone to frothing up and overflowing your mug making an almighty mess. If you get it right then it mixes well enough and you get a thick rich chocolate drink. Then you actually taste it and yuck. If you're looking for an overnight protein source I'd recommend trying Micellar Casein based protein shakes instead because that form of protein is slow-release and really suited to overnight absorption. Otherwise although I like the PhD Nutrition range I really can't recommend this Reset at all.

PhD is definitely branching out. This is pretty interesting xD Don't know if the price tag is right.

I really like PhD products but this is not a favourite. On the plus side, the ingredients are good, the macro- and micro-nutrients what you would expect from the company. It mixes well with none of the clumping I have found in similar products from other companies. But I found the taste simultaneously too sweet and a little salty, the texture cloying, I just didn't like it. I will continue to use PhD products, they are usually exceptional, but this one is just not for me.
