Sci-MX Ultra Whey 800g Chocolate

I have been using SCI MX Ultra Whey Protein Powder for 6 years but the all-new sugar-free Vanilla-flavoured product tastes awful. You can barely detect the vanilla but what you do get is a lot of bitter chemical aftertaste (which can repeat on you for the next 90 minutes). As you can see in my snapshot above I attempted to mask the bad taste of this all-improved shake by adding vanilla essence and honey, but it still makes for a very unpleasant meal. After each glass I'm forced to use mouthwash to rinse off the artificial sweetner from my tongue. This product gets a huge down vote from me. If anyone can recommend an alternative that doesn't rely so heavily on chemical sweetners please let me know.

Not much i have to say about this, it tastes not bad, it blends well into smoothies. good for weight management or pre workout. comes with handy scoup. i like it :)

I am very active and enjoy long-distance running, cycling, indoor rowing, and strength training. To aid with maintaining muscle mass and to aid in recovery, I use protein powders. I have used at least 11 brands of protein powders, and between those brands at least 16 flavours for MYSUPPLEMENTSHOP to date. I currently have a subscription through MYSUPPLEMENTSHOP to PhD Nutrition powders, and occasionally purchase Nutravita Protein Powders via MYSUPPLEMENTSHOP and it is these two brands that I compare other brands with as I have yet to meet any other brands that meet all my criteria (see below). When I try new protein powders such as this one from SCI-MX, I ask myself the same set of questions. 1. Does it taste good? 2. Does the powder mix well with liquid? 3. Does it settle on the stomach? 4. Does it have good nutritional value? 5. Is it good value for money? 6. What else to consider? 1. Following the instructions I used 2 level scoops in 200ml of water in my shaker bottle for 10 seconds, then let it settle for 30 seconds. It was grim. It was a lumpy overly sickly sweet strawberry drink. However, to be fair to SCI-MX, I have yet to have a protein powder by any brand (including my usual) that I enjoy mixed with water. I tried a second batch, but this time I mixed it with oat-based milk and I shook the contents for a good 40 to 50 seconds. The flavour was marginally improved, but I still found it very lumpy compared to my usual brands, and it was still sickly sweet. 2. As mentioned, if mixed with water or milk, it was still very lumpy, and unpleasant. 3. I did find that I had quite an excessive amount of stomach gurgling going on after both times I consumed the shakes. 4. With regards to the nutritional content, this SCI-MX does have a good amount of protein per 100g at 78g. But PhD my preferred brand available on MYSUPPLEMENTSHOP is 82g. 5. In terms of price (at the time of this review in August 2022), this is the most expensive protein powder I think I have ever tried and reviewed for MYSUPPLEMENTSHOP. It costs just over £42 per kg, whereas my two other brands for comparison work out at just over £17 (for Nutravita) and £16 (PhD) 6. Other things to consider? Whilst it is great that SCI-MX points out that their packaging is recyclable, I found it impossible to get a good airtight seal once open and had to resort to using a clip-it style fastener. In summary, a high amount of protein and am therefore willing to give 2-stars, but there are far too many issues for me to be able to recommend this.

This whey protein powder is perfect for during or after work out to aid and support muscle building and recovery. It is super tasty and has a nice creamy texture. It's is packed with protein but low in sugar and fat. Great for gym enthusiasts and athletes. Super simple and quick to make. Excellent product.

I've used many types of supplement powder in the last 15 years. This chocolate flavour rates quite highly on the taste and texture test. I never mix them with water as that give the worst taste. I mixed this one with unsweetened soya milk and the combo worked very well together. I use a bottle to shake it and always add an ice cube to help remove lumps and chill it down. This one mixed fine and was smooth to drink. The protein, fat and carb ratio are good for post workout recovery. It is very expensive for 1kg. I would always buy a bigger volume to get a cheaper price but after some research I discovered that the brand has closed its production of this product, so I guess it's just selling off stock now. That's a shame as I would buy again if larger sizes were available.
